RWJF-Funded Active Living Research Program Releases Rapid-Response Call for Proposals
June 7, 2010
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
"Active Living Research is a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) that supports research to inform policy and environmental strategies for increasing physical activity among children and adolescents, decreasing their sedentary behaviors and preventing obesity...
This call for proposals will support opportunistic, time-sensitive studies on physical activity-related policy and environmental change efforts. The rapid-response grants are expected to accelerate progress toward policy and environmental strategies that prevent and reduce childhood obesity. Proposals must include a strong dissemination strategy that reaches local, state or national decision-makers in time to help inform key policy decisions. It also is expected that final study results, including methodologies and data analyses, and the outcome of efforts to reach policy audiences, will be subsequently reported in peer-reviewed publications."
Letters of intent are due no later than July 1, 2011. Grants of up to $150,000 each will be awarded on a rolling basis to projects with timelines that do not exceed 18 months. A total of up to $1.5 million is available. A full list of selection criteria can be found in the call for proposals.
