"In East Portland, where Johnson Creek bends toward 122nd Avenue, public health activists are swimming upstream.

Like most folks, these health workers know that being active and eating well help battle heart disease, diabetes and other chronic illnesses. They also know that simple advice to eat less and exercise more isn't enough: Once people settle into busy but sedentary lives, it's hard to break those habits.

So activists are working with Portland's Bureau of Planning and Sustainability to map out new sidewalks and other changes that could turn the area around Southeast 122nd into a '20-minute neighborhood...'"
